Note: the total number of points 1200.

Singles:

  • a maximum of 500 points for the core human capital factors,
  • a maximum of 100 points for skill transferability factors, and
  • a maximum of 600 points for either a provincial nomination or a qualifying offer of arranged employment; and

Married:

  • a maximum of 460 points for the core human capital factors,
  • a maximum of 40 points for accompanying spouse or common-law partner factors,
  • a maximum of 100 points for skill transferability factors, and
  • a maximum of 600 points for either a provincial nomination or a qualifying offer of arranged employment.

The core human capital factors are:

  • age;
  • level of education;
  • official language proficiency; and
  • Canadian work experience.
    •  Age: single max 110, married max 100
    •  Education: singles max 150, married max 140, spouse max 10

Note: They must have a valid educational credential equivalency assessment in respect of their foreign educational credentials

  • Language (first official language CLB) : singles max 136, married max 128, and spouse max 20
    (Second official language): singles max 24, married max 24

Note: Language level should be assessed under the Canadian Language Benchmarks or the Niveaux de compétence linguistique canadiens.

  • Canadian work experience: singles max 80, married 70, spouse max 10

Skill transferability factors:

  • Combination of level of education and official language proficiency: max 50
  • Combination of level of education and Canadian work experience: max 50
  • Combination of foreign work experience and official language proficiency: max 50
  • Combination of Canadian work experience and foreign work experience: max 50
  • Combination of certificate of qualification and official language proficiency: max 50
    •  a certificate of qualification in a trade occupation: max 50
    •  Points for provincial nomination or employment offer: 600
